Classroom Layout

Desk philosophy: should be in rows in primary grades as students continue recognizing the balance of social and learning time.

Small group area: this area gives that opportunity for time with the teacher as well as interaction with other students.

Teacher desk: in the corner provides the capability of overseeing the whole classroom

Meeting area: front of the classroom with assigned seating arrangements by rows, facing the teacher’s chair.

Reading area: area with reading rug gives students a different environment for reading time.

Island desks: used as a student intervention strategy; provides one on one management.
